American artist, Clyfford Still was a leading figure in Abstract Expressionism. His dramatic arrangement of color formations are designed to give the impression of color being torn off the canvas, revealing more jagged layers beneath. These large scale paintings are truly exquisite + can be viewed at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, a place we totally love + get great inspiration from.
