Design For Humanity

Billabong's annual fundraiser Design For Humanity was a riot! Last night we attended this event + were very impressed by the fashion show + ensuing musical acts. What fun...+ all in the name of water. Water is a non profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations + proceeds from DFH all went toward this noble cause.

Sneaks

Guys grab a pair of tan/white shoes to throw on with a worn in jean shirt + classic timepiece...this is our ideal look for summer! You can find some great sneaks at Urban outfitters, or Sperry Top-sider

Jessee Miller

Came across these nifty little wooden post cards the other day from artist Jessee Miller. Each wooden postcard is first hand drawn, cut + sanded, then hand sceenprinted one at a time, one color at a time. This beats sending a text message any old day! In addition to wooden post cards, Miller also constructs mixed media fine art in a sort of art deco meets 70's surf style. He even makes home furnishings such as wooden coffee tables + stained glass doors.

Santa Maria Novella

A good friend of ours introduced Santa Maria Novella to us a while back as we sat in his car wondering what that magic scent enveloping us was. He had just visited the Melrose boutique + picked up a bit of their pot-pourri. It is lovingly handmade using ancient methods, + grown without pesticides in the Florentine hills exclusively for Santa Maria Novella. Each batch is collected by hand, soaked in essence in enormous, centuries-old earthenware jars, sealed with wax, then aged for several months, + carefully packaged as it has been for centuries. All ingredients are 100% organic + pesticide free. You can find a plethora of Santa Maria Novella products online or at their store fronts in New York and Los Angeles. There is so much to choose from, so enjoy!

She Hit Pause. Studios

Came across this rad photographer from Brooklyn + we simply can't get enough. Photographer Matt Schwartz and web designer/developer Kate Shawver created She Hit Pause Studios, Inc. back in 2002. We love his modern take on the 'pin-up girl' + find his quest to capture the moment with his subjects (his friends + people who have purchased his work) inspiring!
