Yummy Sachets

Cloak + Dagger is all for the idea of making your own aromatic sachets for your drawers and closet spaces. Herbs like rosemary, cinnamon, and lavender can keep clothing and shoes smelling fresh, while cedar can help protect woolens from moth damage. Try filling a beautiful old handkerchief with herbs and gather the ends and tie with some twine or silk ribbon. You can even add some essential oils to the mix in order to strengthen the scented sachets. These could also make a lovely gift for the holidays along with a session with Cloak + Dagger (*wink wink) to make your closet simply beautiful!

A Little KLUTE For Fall...Yes Please

The pictures from the 1971 film, Klute, starring Jane Fonda who plays a call girl named Bree Daniels are enough to inspire a whole wardrobe...But for starters, channel her style when choosing some bold basics for fall. Find a short black cashmere dress, a great trench or tailored coat, a chunky belt, and need we mention some sexy high boots (with or without heel) that we know everyone is always on an eternal hunt for! Keep your eye out for the ultra feminine long sleeve silk blouse in a solid color like cream (we are talking about the bow-tie blouse look with the draped sleeve and all). If you want to add florals or prints, bring in a scarf, but try to focus your big purchases on well made basic pieces in solid colors, and of course the boot is imperative (we like a knee length boot with a short heel). The message here = KEEP IT SIMPLE and FABULOUS.

Succulents

This weekend take a break from cleaning and step outside to do a little gardening. Planting succulents is a no brainer and they add so much style to your home. Start with a small arrangement for your kitchen table, or get a head start on a thoughtful holiday gift. By the way, even the 99 Cent store sells cacti and other succulents. So find a cool container, some soil and go for it.

Narciso Rodriquez and our new first lady

Take a tip from our new First Lady Michelle Obama, who wore Narciso Rodriquez last night as Barack Obama became our president-elect of America. You can take something edgy and fashion forward and put your own twist on it to make it more practical and wearable. In this case a black cashmere cardigan and some simple black pumps soften up the hard lines of her dress, as does her radiant smile. Congrats!!

<<>> We love this look for fall. Don't be scared to belt a bulkier coat to create a slimmer shape and pair it back with some tall boots to add some height. This look from Stella McCartney is right on! Note: leggings or opaque tights could also be worn for more coverage.
